Website terms.

The terms you use this website under. These cover the website itself — the pages, the photographs and the enquiry form. The terms of any building work are the ones written into your quotation.

This website is operated by Tennant Carpentry & Building. By using it you accept the terms below. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

What this page covers, and what it does not

These terms are about the website: the pages, the photographs, and the enquiry form.

They are not the terms of any building work. Nothing on this site is a contract for work, and nothing here overrides what is written in a quotation. If we quote for a job, the scope, the price and the terms of that job are the ones set out in the quotation itself.

What the pages are for

The pages describe the kind of work this business does and show jobs it has completed. They are written to be accurate and are kept up to date, but they describe past work, not a promise about yours.

In particular:

  • Nothing on this site is a quotation, an estimate or an offer. Prices are not published here. What a job costs is established by surveying the building and writing a quotation for it.
  • The technical explanations are general. The pages explain how this kind of work is normally done — how a roof is braced, what an opening needs above it, why an oak frame is pegged. They are written from experience, but they are not a specification for your building, and no one should design or build from them. Your building gets surveyed.
  • Photographs show particular jobs. Materials, finishes and details vary between jobs, and a photograph of one is not a specification for another.

Enquiries

Sending the enquiry form does not create a contract and does not commit either of us to anything. It starts a conversation. We will use what you send to answer you, as set out in the privacy policy.

Please do not send anything confidential or sensitive through the form.

The photographs and the words

The photographs on this site are of work carried out by this business, and the words were written for it. Both belong to Tennant Carpentry & Building.

You are welcome to read the site, print a page, or share a link to it. You may not copy the photographs or the text onto another website, into marketing, or into a listing, without asking first. Ask — the answer is often yes.

Trade names and marks belonging to other companies remain theirs.

Where this site links somewhere else — a supplier, a map, guidance published by somebody official — that link is for convenience. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for what is on them.

Availability

The site is provided as it is. We try to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, or free of errors. We may change or remove pages at any time.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
